Why Hemp

We choose hemp because it has a quiet kind of strength.

It is breathable without feeling fragile. It is textured without feeling unfinished. It softens with time, but it does not lose the sense of substance that makes a garment feel dependable.

That balance is what makes hemp useful for clothing and home essentials. It is comfortable enough for daily wear and durable enough to stay in rotation.

Breathability and texture

Hemp fibres allow air to move through the fabric, which helps clothing feel comfortable in different seasons. In warm weather, hemp feels dry and breathable. In cooler weather, heavier hemp blends can still feel grounded and substantial.

The texture is part of the experience. It is not perfectly flat or overly polished. It has a natural surface that gives even simple pieces a little depth.

Strength that softens

Many fabrics feel best when they are new. Hemp is different. It often becomes better after washing and wearing.

The first touch may feel crisp, but the fibre gradually relaxes. Over time, the garment becomes softer, easier and more personal, while still keeping the strength that makes hemp worth choosing in the first place.

A slower way to own things

Hemp grows quickly and can often be cultivated with less water than many conventional fibre crops. But for us, the material matters most when it helps make something people keep using.

A slower wardrobe is not only about what a fabric is made from. It is about whether the piece still feels right after many wears.

Why it fits The More Hemp

We are drawn to materials that do not need to shout. Hemp has that quality. It is practical, but not plain. Natural, but not precious. Strong, but still capable of becoming soft.

That is why we keep returning to it.
