Silk Question

Silk is often treated as the most delicate natural fibre, but the question is not only whether silk is beautiful.

It is. The better question is how a material fits into real life: how it feels, how it wears, how it is cared for, and whether it becomes something people reach for often.

The appeal of silk

Silk has a smoothness that is difficult to imitate. It catches light softly and feels cool against the skin.

For some pieces, that refinement is exactly the point. Silk can make a garment feel formal, fluid and quietly special.

But silk also asks for care. It can be sensitive to washing, sunlight, friction and everyday use. For people who want clothing that can move through ordinary routines, that sensitivity matters.

The difference with hemp

Hemp does not try to feel like silk.

It is drier, more textured and more grounded. It may begin with a little crispness, then soften through washing and wear.

Where silk often feels precious, hemp feels useful. It can still be beautiful, but its beauty is less about shine and more about texture, breathability and change over time.

Choosing by life, not only by touch

A fabric can feel wonderful in the hand and still not suit the way someone lives.

That is why we think about material beyond first touch. Will it be worn often? Will it be easy to care for? Will it become better with time rather than more difficult?

Silk and hemp answer those questions differently.

A quieter kind of luxury

Luxury does not always need to mean smoothness, shine or fragility.

Sometimes it means a fabric that can be washed, worn and softened. A garment that feels calm in the body. A piece that becomes more personal the longer it stays with you.

Silk has its place. Hemp has another. We are drawn to the one that belongs most naturally to everyday life.
